The long-awaited, plug-in hybrid version of the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander crossover, heralded by the Japanese automaker as the first full-on four-wheel-drive electric vehicle in series production, will be rolled out at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
According to MotorAuthority.com, the design specs apparently feature one electric motor and gas-powered engine that can spin the front axle — and another electric motor that spins the rear axle.
According to Inside Line, Mitsubishi Motors North America boasts that the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, which is aiming to be one of the first plug-in crossover/SUVs in the U.S., will launch here in the states in late ’13 or early on in ’14 latest.
(Pssst, btw … no word yet on pricing numbers or a mpg equivalent rating.)
