Catch Some Flies With Your Mercedes-Benz!!!

Car art or insanity? You make the call.

As most of us do our best to swat flies AWAY, French artist Natacha Mercier did her best to collect them. Using fly paper, a greenhouse, and 100,000 flies along with a Mercedes Benz — the artist created this mobile piece of art.

What inspired this outlandish work of art you ask? The artist said after watching a man decked out in all-white attire and sporting gold “bling” exit his BMW, she witnessed the women around her (herself included) “Drop like flies.” Thus the creation of the fly-covered car.

Upon completion, the artist took the car for a joyride through the streets of Toulouse, France, while onlookers gawked at the vehicle — much like the scenario that inspired it.

Not Our First Pick for a Get-Away Car: Smart Car Leads Cops on High-Speed Chase

A driver in a Smart Car made a not-so-smart move when he led Houston police on a high speed chase. This toy … I mean car … reached a top speed of 92 MPH on the Interstate 10.

Bet this driver isn’t feeling so smart now — according to Jalopnik — he apparently drove back to his house and casually got out of his car.

Several officers arrested David Wheaton, the driver, on spot without incident.

We’re sure this is the most adventurous thing we’ve ever heard a Smart Car doing! And we just can’t get over the picture! It looks like Mama Car and Baby Car.

But hey, smart car owners everywhere must now be very proud…

We think Texas police must have shared a laugh at some point. How could you not?

Soccer Star’s Ferrari Burnt to a Crisp

British soccer star Ever Banega’s $306,506 Ferrari short circuited, became engulfed in flames and burned to a black char this week.

Images that caught fire (haha, sorry about that one) in the local media showed the front fender of the car unscathed and the rest of the car burnt to a cinder, including the entire passenger cab.

Banega was driving the car outside of Valencia (the Spanish city that he plays for), when smoke started pouring from the back of the car and the blaze started to suddenly engulf the car.

Ferrari actually recalled the model of Banega’s car, the 458 Italia, saying that an “adhesive used to attach a heat shield under the rear fender can ignite under high temperatures, leading to a larger fire in the engine bay.”

Whoops!

Might want to check on that small detail.

French ‘Rollerman’ Rolls On Down a Chinese Mountain

Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’.

Boy that roller man is rollin’!

In a strange new stunt video, a Frenchman covered in wheels flies down a 99-turn mountainside in China.

The human rollerskate has some impressive moves, and cuts some mean curves — but to the crueler eye he definitely looks maybe just a little bit … goofy.

Starting down a steep starting ramp like a ski-jumper, the French flier cast all in black and blue even sports a little camera sticking up from his lower back like a monkey tail.

Swarms of media take in the stunt, with a surprising number of the Chinese citizenry turning out to watch the crazy man fly down the mountain side.

There’s even a little fireworks show at the end with tall orange sparklers and a crowd of fans cheering.

Car Goes BOOM!!! Wow, Stay Far Away From This Massive Ball of Fire

Boooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!

For any of our readers that aren’t aware — it’s a very, very bad thing when your car is on fire.

As seen on web sites like ViralViralVideos.com, this video out of Russia blew up over the last few weeks (pardon the pun), netting several hundred thousand hits on YouTube.

Keep in mind, details are scarce in terms of what’s actually going on because all of the coverage of this particular viral video is covered in Russian language (we have no in-house translator at Viper who’s fluent in Russian, very sorry for that, btw.)

A couple details are more than clear, however.

The scene opens with a car in the middle of a Russian street blanketed in heavy flames, sending thick black smoke up into the air.

Amazingly, cars are still driving by the flaming inferno, trying to sneak past in the lane right next to the blaze, so that they can keep motoring along on their way. (It’s frightening how little people value their lives over shaving a little time off of their commute).

Shortly, the car’s fuselage ignites, resulting in a massive explosion that kicks a massive fireball in the air.

The kids looking on and taping the fiery event all gasp: “whooooooooa!”

And yes, sadly, a few of them also laugh once it’s done.

Ah, to be young and still find horrible events like this to be funny.
